Paint.

Let me paint.

With color in black

Massive and honest.

No beat, no pact,

The innermost naked.

KURT PAINTS

After the apprenticeship as a display artist, painting was pushed aside by music for a long time. In addition he was always able to express himself creatively to a great extend as a designer. A few years ago, he found his way back to the painted canvas. Traumatized by art history classes, he avoided art-museums and most galleries for decades. In this self-searched ignorance and visual silence he developed his own personal style, influenced as little as possible from outside.

The Artist’s Rebirth - 2012 - 2014

The first works after resumption of painting are characterized by the inner turmoil and his search for a role in modern society. The figures are strongly emphasized and undefined suffering seems to be the focus of the beings, some of which are depicted as icons.

The Boxer – 2014 – 2017

The fascination for boxing probably startet as a ittle boy, who was allowed to get up in the middle of the night with his father to see the “Greatest” himself - Muhammad Ali - on TV broadcast. He was only 6 or 7 at the time… At some point - much, much later he trained in the Lucerne Boxing Club and gave a short guestperformance, before he - after x bruised ribs but still with a unbroken nose - he decided to go jogging with the last resort of his remaining sanity. Despite it, Zeltner says: “The smell of the boxing club, respect for sparring, the adrenaline and overcoming fear when attacking, crossing the line when going into the infight… All this - although on amodest level - stayed with me. The elemental power and the lonley fight man against man fascinate him to this day. Movementt, power, speed elegance. But also brute force.“

New York - New York – Experiments with collage/acrylic - 2017/2018

For the fist time, the artist tried a mixed technique of collage and acrylic painting. The pictures were taken after a tour to New York and the aim was the merge of photgraphy with painted sketches.

Einsiedeln, stories and legends- 2018 - 2019

An excerpt of the work for the exhibition "Einsiedeln, stories and legends" which took place in the summer of 2020 in the "Chärnehus" Einsiedeln.  The aim was to mix existing legends and historical events from the region with freely invented stories and to present them pictorially.

Sketchbook 2020 - 2021

In spring 2020 I had no empty sketchbook at hand. Out of necessity - it was during the first Covid lockdown - I resorted to an old book which I actually wanted to dispose of. The antique ("Lydia - ein Volksroman") was published in 1919 and came into my possession through my neighbor ("ds'Etter-Grosi"). As a small boy I wrote several "secret writings" for our "gang" at that time in old German script, which is why I still own some books from the pre-war period.

Lucerne - 2021

Especially for my exhibition in the gallery "Harlekin" in Lucerne I designed some pictures related to Lucerne.

Wounded - 2017/18

The series was created as a pictorial counterpart to my song "Wounded" (album: A Stack of Black). The multi-layered nature of these paintings culminates in the contours which are placed on transparent art glass with spacers. As a symbol that with distance to the wounds and chaos the contours become visible again. At the same time, the statement is back-referential, since the light projects the contours as shadows again into the chaos (the background).

Using Trash 2021

Actually, I wanted to dispose of the cardboard. But since it was too tedious for me, I worked this into my emerging studies...So now it's about disposing of the pictures....

Change - 2019

The images were created to my song "Change" (book & album: "A Stack of Black").

Two individuals merge - getting closer and closer - to unrecognizability which triggers the pupation and finally the emergence of the - seeking freedom - butterfly as the antipole.
